The cat is handed over to Robbie, the younger brother, and together with their adoptive mother Mila and their good friend Sep, the family moves into the new castle. There Robbie meets his cat, Carmel for the first time, and discovers to his surprise that it is a talking cat, smart and with wonderful magical powers. But the castle is not as quiet as it seems: within its walls also lives the evil housekeeper, Mrs. Bloom, who plots to take over the brothers' inheritance with the help of her beautiful daughter, Helena. The situation quickly becomes complicated—Mrs. Bloom tries to turn the brothers against each other and steal the magical cat; El and Gul fall in love with Helena and get into a fight over her heart; and Robbie, with Carmel's help, begins to uncover the plot and try to stop it. The castle is also visited by an orphan named Jane, followed by the greedy orphanage manager, Cecilia, who also covets C.
