Introductory Birdwatching Course for Girls and Children

Three Days of Nature Join us for an introductory birding course in which we will get to know the world of birds through their body structure, behavior and evolution. We will learn to use binoculars and develop observation and identification skills in the field. We will get to know the process of ringing up close and the work of researchers in the field. We will tour different habitats and learn to locate birds according to their environment and their sounds. 14.10 | Day one: Get to know the world of birds. We will dive into the world of birds and get to know their unique structure. We will understand how the body structure allows for flight, we will examine different types of beaks and discover how they are adapted to different types of food. We will learn how birds adapt their body structure to the environment in which they live. We will also get to know the evolutionary story behind the wings, the connection between birds and dinosaurs and the migration journeys they undergo between the seasons. We will learn how to aim and use professional binoculars and go out for our first observation in the field. Through the lens we will begin to identify different behaviors: searching for food on the ground, movement and camouflage in the thickets, and species that can be encountered in the vicinity of the Yarkon River and the park. 23.10 | Day Two: The Basics of Ringing. We will get to know the work of ringing and see how the researchers follow the birds in the field. We will understand why a ring is attached to the bird's leg,
