Chol Hamoed Sukkot at the Kiryat HaMelacha Cultural Cell, creative workshops for the whole family led by artists from the city. In the workshop, we will embark on a short journey following the representations of hands in art. We will begin by observing some of the hand sculptures of the artist Lital Rubenstein over the years, and from there we will continue to a short visual journey between hand representations in art: from prehistoric hand paintings to contemporary art. During the workshop, each participant will sculpt a personal pair of hands out of clay that dries in the air. Through the work with the material, we will examine how posture, gesture, and the shape of the hand can express an idea and a personal story. Participants will experience basic sculpting processes, learn how to build and design the material, and come out with a unique sculpture that they created with their own hands. Ages 8-12. Each participant is required to submit a ticket.
